Do you know you have a digital ID, called an IP address? Every day, millions of people are connected to the Internet. Each accessing at least hundreds of millions of pages on the web. All happen at the same time. If the Internet were a man, nothing like this can happen. A system providing at least billions of information to millions of people simultaneously. If the Internet was a human being, it would be impossible. However, we have never heard of. We have heard how the Internet are lacking. This leads to a simple question. How can it be possible? How the web provides information in exactly the right person without mistake?
IP address, your online identity card
The answer to this question is found on your device. Today, most devices can connect to the web. To help identify these devices, they come with an online ID. We call on the IP address. Despite its name, the IP address contains a lot of personal information. An IP address can indicate your location, type of device, its manufacturing data, which did, LAN card details, and much more. With this detailed information, hacker can break into your system using only your IP address.
VPN and IP address
Protecting your IP address is important in cyber security. It's like keeping the door in your device. The better you protect it, the safer you will be. For the exact same reason, people always seek the best protection of intellectual property. And the winner is VPN. A VPN can hide your IP address of origin and hide them from the threat of cyber. Unfortunately, all VPNs are secure. Unlike VPN.asia, some of them have security vulnerabilities. These defects may reveal your original IP address. In other words, while you surf the Web with VPN, there might be a chance that your IP address is not hidden. Therefore, everyone can understand and tackle. And, get ready for the worst. A criminal might exploit this flaw. While you enjoy browsing the web, someone might be spying you. Your information could have been lost.
The challenge here is, what can you do? Is there a way to stop it?
IP address leakage
In VPN.asia, we believe there is a solution for every challenge, including IP leakage. But before we get there, we'll learn more about it.
What IP Leak?
A simple example of a VPN user knows IP leakage.
once you're connected, the VPN provider will offer you a list of available servers. After choosing one of these servers, the VPN will start to hide your IP address. As a result, your original IP will be hidden. The only person not supposed to see is the IP address of the VPN server. That's how it supposed to work.
But ....
Have you ever seen this message, even after the connection to the server?
"Sorry, this content is not available in your country,"
This means that there is something wrong with your VPN. This means that your VPN is down. The site still detect your original IP address. In other words, you are suffering from IP leakage.
real-life cases of leakage IP
Our first example happened last year. A serious security flaw has been discovered at the time. Any remote site can use this flaw to reveal true IP address of someone using Real Time Web Communication or WebRTC. Until now WebRTC is still one of the features built into most browsers. Even if you use a VPN, it will not be useful. Fortunately, today we can fix with some browser extensions.
Our next example has come to the end of 2015. Many VPN providers fall in Port fails. This incident suppliers with Port Forwarding attacked. In this case, at least thousands were reported as victims.
Are you affected?
Do not get more confidence, until you have evidence. Many people believe in their VPN too. Let me tell you something. Nothing is good if it was too much. This includes VPN. Even if your VPN provider is the best supplier that you can get, you should always check its performance. That's why we at VPN.asia, recommend checking our service.
