This was our first year in Southern California and Citrix Synergy in Los Angeles, May 22-24 was a week full of action-filled output of your speech, many technical sessions and practical work, a lively Expo Solutions - and large (geek-to-geek or) networking opportunities with peers-to-peer for our participants! But most importantly, we have introduced a number of new services and solutions that continue to help us shape the mobility and transform the way people work.
Over six thousand of you were with us at the Anaheim Convention Center where CEO Mark Templeton launched the Synergy Keynote. We announced XenDesktop 7, the first version of what we called "Avalon Project." The XenDesktop 7 will allow any company to mobilize applications and Windows desktops and deliver them as a cloud service to any device. And in a highlight of the show, Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang joined Mark on stage for a demonstration of how XenDesktop 7 can remotely access the physical GPU resources using the NVIDIA GRID vGPU technology. the term "Extreme Saas -ification "was coined, and the graphics are spectacular at all in the crowd! guests will be able to enjoy the benefits of this technology, with graphics acceleration on any platform, using any device, on any request .
As Mark said during the keynote, mobility is dominant CIO Mindshare. That is why we are particularly pleased XenMobile Enterprise. XenMobile Enterprise combines mobile device, application and data management, shop enterprise applications, and mobile productivity applications in an inclusive solution to the provision of mobile services for businesses. Part of that includes Sharefile StorageZone Connectors for Microsoft SharePoint and network drives - the mobilization of your data wherever you go! We also announced mobile productivity applications built for business - called Worx Mobile Apps. Citrix Chief Demo Officer Brad Peterson perfectly zipped across applications - like any productive worker on the road can do now
We also appointed eighth annual winner Innovation Award Citrix society based on the popular vote, and this year! was the University of Sao Paulo. A BIG congratulations to USP! Our innovation award is designed to honor organizations that adopt solutions to enable mobile workstyles. The university has created one of the largest IT cloud environments in Latin America and has helped to make the mobile education and easily accessible for a new generation of students. Congratulations to our finalists the prize of innovation, Essar and the Miami Children's Hospital, to share their inspirational stories of business transformation and innovation with Citrix.
We proved that we are not all work and no play by kickoff Synergy with a welcome reception that included more than 80 partners and sponsors from industry, and closing with one of the hottest parts of the year, including a performance by Grammy Award band.
This is just a taste of what we experienced in Los Angeles. Be sure to check out the keynote session best videos and other event highlights SynergyTV to relive the experience! And mark your calendars to join us next year for Synergy 2014 return to Los Angeles, May 6-8 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Until then, let all continue to work better and live better!
