Innovation lives on the margins of the current practice. Sometimes it just by shuffling existing capabilities in new ways. Often, it addresses new challenges.
Late last year, we made an investment in a fresh new start with the name of Armor5, earlier on stealth. They happened to have just offices on the road to our Accelerator (on Lawrence highway), so it was very easy for the team to move and they quietly worked Citrix Startup Accelerator offices since the year last. On one hand, it is a pleasure to work with these guys from day to day, and even with the growing crew of amazing companies that are based on the accelerator. (More on that in another post). Now we are able to put up their logo, and share some of our thoughts about them.
Armor5 is an excellent example of the application stack in a new way, mix the cards, if you wish to bring a new reflection on the challenges of BYOD, and preventing data leakage. They take the cards for "virtual machine", existing VPN, cloud service, each HTML device 5 capacity, and the free computer friction, and arrange them in a new hand - one that brings a new combination of capacity, security and ease of implementation to the game.
This is very complementary to leading solutions Citrix industry for BYOD, Executive Mobility, workshifting, and security and compliance, so I'm looking forward to Armor5 maturation in a popular Citrix partner.
Citrix Startup Accelerator is a business accelerator, investing in infrastructure and raw startups collaboration software scene. We are looking for companies to solve emerging problems early with a clear demand for their solution. As William Gibson so memorably put it:
