How compatible is from an application perspective?

Microsoft has not given an official statement (. but best of my knowledge), general messaging and the mood seems to be that Windows 10 is a very compatible operating system, and our results seem to indicate that this the case when it (compare the same processor platform, 32-bit / 64-bit) to a similar version of Windows from its predecessor Windows 8.1.
We tested 488 applications on Windows 8.1 64-bit and then repeated the same test under Windows 10 64-bit, and found only one application that runs on Windows 10. that is, if my math serves me fails to function properly, that the compatibility between Windows 8.1 64-bit and Windows 10 64-bit 99.80% is !!

as much as we would like it, application compatibility is not as binary as this would you assume have the same applications , to the moving same vanilla image that is never the case.

Yes, there is a high degree of application compatibility when you move, for example, from the Windows 8.1 64-bit Windows 10 64-bit. However, this is not the case when moving from Windows 8.1 32-bit or Windows 7 64-bit or even Windows XP 32-bit or 64-bit!
