I was with the installation and configuration of the latest Citrix Receiver for Linux in a demo environment template the recently commissioned Citrix demo Center.
the target Linux flavor is the 64-bit SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 SP3 (SLED11 SP3) environment. A new version of Citrix Receiver for Linux, version 13.2.1, was on 08/27/2015 available that uses the version I.
Here are the steps followed to install Citrix Receiver for Linux 13.2. 1 on 64-bit SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 SP3. These steps can certainly be condensed, but these are the steps I followed.
From the product download site Citrix, I downloaded the ICAClient-suse11sp3-13.2.1.328635-0.x86_64.rpm file on my local laptop.
With WinSCP I invited ICAClient-suse11sp3-13.2.1.328635-0.x86_64.rpm file / root folder of my demo environment XenServer 6.2.1 instance.
I logged into my 64-bit SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 SP3 virtual machine (VM SLED11) Command Line Interface (CLI) as root . By SFTP utility, I SFTPed the ICAClient-suse11sp3-13.2.1.328635-0.x86_64.rpm file on my SLED11 VM in a folder named / packages ,
Note that on 64-bit SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 SP3, make sure that the zypper to use utility, not the rpm use the [1945002installieren] ICAClient-suse11sp3-13.2.1.328635-0.x86_64.rpm rpm package. The rpm Download utility or install any required dependencies. An attempt is made to install only the .rpm package. If the required dependencies are missing, an error message will be displayed .
zypper ./ICAClient-suse11sp3-13.2.1.328635-0.x86_64.rpm[1945004installieren]
The first time I tried the following zypper command from the CLI, it was because I was not the SLED 11 SP3 x86_64 DVD-GM DVD1.iso had mounted ISO image on the VM and the SLED11 zypper utility could not find the necessary missing dependencies.
I put the SLED11 SP3 ISO image SLED 11 SP3 x86_64 DVD-GM DVD1.iso to my SLED11 VM.
I then tried again, the zypper command from the SLED11 VM-CLI:
./ICAClient-suse11sp3-13.2.1.328635-0.x86_64.rpm zypper install
This time, Citrix receiver for Linux 13.2.1 for 64-bit SUSE Linux Enterprise desktop 11 SP3 appeared then successfully install!
I then tried to make the 13.2 running Citrix Receiver for Linux. 1 Self-service utility from the SLED11 VM-CLI:
./ self
But it could not be executed, because I was Linux from the command-line interface with instead of a GUI.
I used RDP then from a Windows VM in my SLED11 VM RDP. From a Windows VM, right click on the Windows / Start icon, click Run and enter Mstsc and then OK .
I as root [1945003angemeldet].
This time I opened a GUI-based terminal window, navigate to the / opt / Citrix / ICA Client (note that this is the default installation path) folder where the installed zypper utility Citrix receiver for Linux 13.2.1 and ran
./ self
This time it worked successfully.
I hope you found this information useful.
Regards,
Bill
