Logan Harbaugh EDTECH Magazine published a review of Citrix XenDesktop 7, focusing on its ability to simplify VDI students and administrators. Logan tested XenDesktop 7 on an old PC and new PC Android tablet, and demonstrated the ability to access files, Microsoft Office applications, email and VoIP apps seamlessly on each.
Students want easy access to their applications in the classroom from anywhere, on campus or off campus, using any device they want. Unlike other traditional VDI solution, XenDesktop offers only virtual applications and desktops using one unified platform, providing self-service access to users (in this case, students) and simplified management for IT .
Logan noted, "XenDesktop 7 provides substantial improvements over previous versions, integrating the functionality of a previously separate application, XenApp, while providing a reliable and cost effective way to provide mobile users that they expect. "
