Although there has been much interest around the new features of vGPU, Citrix and longtime partners such as IMSCAD worked with suppliers and users of CAD and operation of other GPU-based technologies such as GPU sharing for XenApp and GPU pass-through. IMSCAD have experience to provide 24/7 support for mission-critical customer environments through global data centers since 03. In particular, I think their webinars should be of interest to those looking to deploy global mobility solutions in difficult infrastructure. IMSCAD have some very interesting case studies (this video will give you a quick overview) of existing mature solutions in industries such as CAE and BIM. IMSCAD are world specialists in the planning and deployment of CAD / 3D applications on Citrix. They cut their teeth with Autodesk and were retained to certify and test the Autodesk design applications on Citrix. They deployed clients 100s in the world and have built an impressive knowledge base. IMSCAD have traditionally always worked with channel partners and they only provided solutions through Autodesk channel partners to date, but they now have a model to support global Citrix resellers.
Those of you who read my blog regularly know that as a former CAD engineer, I have a special interest in optimizing and understanding the workload virtualized CAD. I do not also recommends companies or partners without some degree of first-hand experience of their service or products. In this case, I spent much time in recent months emailing and talking to IMSCAD on the phone and was reassured they really seem to have expertise in treating CAD data and understanding of the flow working from the user and the use of these applications (they went from quiz HLR and use wire!). I felt they had experience and real understanding of how to deliver real performance in complex and realistic deployments.
