use traditional, hybrid or Hosted - Try and typical enterprise software today, to buy, chances are you will be using a transaction and implementation model, which is about 20 years old ...
... a model in which you pay a lot of up-front for a license to money, you also mean hardware to buy to let on the run the software, talented employees to hire to install and maintain, and shift all the risks for successful implementation to ... you.
Here at Citrix, we are changing that single-option approach. While other buyers required testing and use cases, we found that some customers still need the traditional software purchase model.
But it turns out now that many customers prefer very different financial and supply / consumption models.
, to meet these needs, Citrix has upgraded to provide our business software in new ways, depending on customer needs, financial preferences and regulatory constraints, technical capacity / depth. The approaches of the traditional enterprise software model range, a simpler hybrid delivery model, outsourced hosted services in full supply.
- The traditional option: For the do-it-yourself customers - with typically larger companies sophisticated IT staff, the "traditional" software approach still works. Buy a one-time perpetual license (with a modest annual maintenance fee), and you are in 100% control of the software, how to configure it, whether-or-not to update it, and how to select / amortized to account it. The industry has this model for decades ... but there are now other options that better suit specific applications
- The hybrid option .: For nontechnical customers Citrix now offers hybrid delivery / consumption approach, use our workspace cloud platform. From a technological perspective, this delivery method from the traditional distinction: Many (but not all) of the Citrix software components as-a-service will now be operated by Citrix, and pre-integrated in a cloud control plane. In some cases, to install some critical virtual software components and implement customer yet; in others the SaaS model is all customer needs. There is much less for customers to install / operation / maintenance and all Citrix components are automatically integrated and updated. And from a financial perspective, this How-a-service approach are sold on a subscription basis, so that finance capital to operating expenses shift
- The hosted option .: Finally, for smaller customers who have little to no technical depth (or, for those looking to technology to invest in the property, not want) Citrix offers 100% fully hosted options (ie desktops-as-a-service or DaaS) through its service provider partners. In this case, the entire portfolio of Citrix products as third parties are fully managed services - with no end-user to install, integrate or to obtain. And this software-based services are available on a simple per-user per-month subscription basis -. A simple financial OPEX model
Cleary, one-size-does-not-fit-all when it comes to the use of modern software. Here at Citrix, we fit the specific needs of customers in this new era of software have been too hard to develop at work alternative delivery models.
