When I was a child, I loved Schoolhouse Rock! "Conjunction Junction", "a noun is a person, place or thing" were both good, but the infamous "I'm just a bill" is my favorite. I think it was just the way he explained things. You go from an idea to become a law and there are steps along the way you follow ... 1, 2, 3, and so on. Cool, I understand. Now, like any good process, it is the devil is in the details and easy for decomposition process if part of the process is not optimized. I will not get into a debate on the place and if the US legislative process is broken, but you get what I'm saying.
I think there is a parallel here with mobile applications and how we do as an industry to get ready to be used by businesses to scale. Of course, we can say that applications begin as ideas and then end up being packaged and delivered to end users, but there is much more involved in getting this right. Some of it is technical and part is process-oriented.
It is with this aim that I want to discuss today's announcement about Worx Mobile Apps, App SDK and Worx Worx App Gallery. These three elements are essential to make mobile applications ready for the enterprise and deliver them to the people. I will share some nuggets about this ad that brought this home to me:
Building Enterprise-Ready Applications - SDK Worx App
Developers and even IT companies need a simple tool to inject security capabilities that companies want in their applications and a way to manage these abilities once they are in place. Whether a commercial application that is used by many people for work or a fully customized application IT invests in a business line, the need is the same. Citrix introduced the App SDK Worx to handle this. It is a simple and powerful SDK that enables any-Worx mobile application. It leverages Citrix MDX app container technology to add features such as data encryption, password authentication, secure lock and wipe, inter-VPN applications and micro policies to mobile applications. MDX this library can be integrated into any application with a single line of code. Developers can also opt to wrap their post-development applications without adding any code to their application. Pretty cool, right? Even cooler is the fact that nearly 80 independent software vendors (ISVs) are committed to using the SDK App Worx with their own applications
Introducing these applications so that companies buy and use -. App Worx Gallery
ISVs building applications for businesses and professionals seeking them need a way to connect. That's why Citrix created the App Worx Gallery. Quite simply, it is this place that professionals can go to find compatible applications Worx. And for developers, the App Gallery is a showcase where they can promote and provide information on their applications Worx-enabled.
The realization of these applications to end users with a set of high-octane productivity applications that Citrix has already created - XenMobile and mobile applications Worx
in all the processes you need a well-oiled and efficient way to cover the last mile high traffic. The beauty here is that Citrix has already dealt with this XenMobile, a management solution for complete mobility of business that can be used to serve any Worx activated application for end users. So he gets applications from the App Worx Gallery and operates XenMobile to offer to end users. To top it off, Citrix-Worx has enabled a group of its own applications, including WorxMail, WorxWeb and ShareFile. This means that companies can immediately get going with the most critical applications and IT can be assured that they are safe and implemented the way the company's requirements.
And the App Lives Happily Ever After
Like most stories Schoolhouse rock, there is a lesson to this blog. Many solutions can be technically very good, but to really address the major challenges, you must be willing to examine the process and the surrounding ecosystem. You must be willing to understand how we will do this on the scale and build an ecosystem around the company. I think Worx Mobile Apps, App SDK Worx Worx App Gallery and go a long way in this pursuit. I hope you'll take a look around to see if you agree.
