Plus include smart features like Google Now tell me to leave early because of traffic or other intelligent reminders. So I'll use the iWatch to tell time .. But now it will be smart time with events and future suggestions.

New v3 Model AWS CloudFormation for XenApp now available also in the Sydney area with the support of NetScaler and StoreFront -

Since Paul Wilson and I first introduced a model CloudFormation in the blog "Restart your XenDesktop Farm in AWS with CloudFormation model," we have added support for several regions and availability zones in a v2 version of this model CloudFormation in the blog "announcing the multi-Region AWS model CloudFormation for XenDesktop ".

Today we are announcing the third version of our model AWS CloudFormation adding the new region and support for Asia Pacific Sydney StoreFront NetScaler and Access Gateway Enterprise. This version uses the NetScaler VPX instances available via AWS Marketplace, and replaces the StoreFront Web interface to be able to support all the advanced features our latest Citrix Receiver.

Harness the power of cloud deployment models for hosted XenApp and Xen Desktop -

As companies began to move some of their IT projects in the cloud, they become comfortable and are now looking to enjoy more agility clouds and economic benefits. This opens new deployment patterns at a rate that was not possible before. For example, consider the following use cases related to XenApp deployments / XenDesktop in a global enterprise with distributed users:

• quickly ramping infrastructure for a new set of internal clients after a merger
• deployment of XenApp / XenDesktop solutions closer to end users, while keeping the applications and central data in the global data center.

in both cases, using the cloud will help tremendously in accelerating the deployment. The company can choose a public cloud provider with good proximity, cost structure and availability to deploy XenApp / XenDesktop closer to end users. They can keep the application servers, Active Directory data and rest safely in their own data center. In this model, they are able to reap the benefits of a truly hybrid solution to scale and security.

In this solution, there remains the issue of secure connectivity between public and private cloud data center. Most cloud providers offer a VPN gateway for businesses to connect to. But there remains the question of WAN performance limitations due to latency and / or packet loss in the network. These generally reduce the speed of the WAN connection and affect the performance of the overall solution.

CloudBridge Citrix addresses this problem by combining the secure cloud connectivity to WAN optimization to enable a truly seamless hybrid cloud deployment. The main advantages of this integrated approach are:

• optimizing TCP CloudBridge handles traffic at the network layer acting as a TCP proxy to speed data transfer . CloudBridge dynamically adjusts the behavior of the TCP window size and the congestion response to maximize throughput for WAN available conditions (latency and loss)
• Data compression :. CloudBridge implements a high performance compression engine to reduce the volume of data transferred over the tunnel
• acceleration Protocol :. Some protocols such as CIFS or MAPI, could greatly benefit from the protocol optimization when running over the WAN. Acting as a local proxy, CloudBridge accelerates the exchange of information and releases the additional bandwidth that can be used for other critical data
• QoS :. CloudBridge implements deep application-level classification and prioritization of traffic over the tunnel that help to enforce the SLA at the application level.

How do you look cool with AppDNA? -

Uncertainty of application compatibility is one of the biggest roadblocks to any desktop transformation project. In the past I AOVE seen this lead to inaccurate information presented to stakeholders. This can potentially lead to eruptions budget and timeline. And if you overestimate the outset, projects can be stored because the company can not see the return on investment. It was the old!

AppDNA help take the guesswork out of the piece of the puzzle of application compatibility Application Migration. Even those of us who are old school and love to get our hands dirty fixing application problems, must admit that AppDNA is the new way; the most effective way; most cost-effective manner; the best way!

Citrix made a significant change to the licensing model last October with the release of version 6.1 SP1, when they allowed to import and analyze as many applications as you want in the period test 30 days. This will give you access to two high-level reports; being View Estate, and the other being the calculator of the effort. The trial license allows you to unlock the reports and patches for Windows applications and up to 5 5 Web applications. The only View Estate is gold.

Imagine this. There, AOS talk of a Windows OS upgrade project or imminent application virtualization project. You download, install and configure AppDNA.
