Session Recording

session recording is a XenDesktop Platinum feature that allows for the recording and playback of ICA sessions. Configurable via a recording session policy may be triggered a recording session based on the user / group or application server is started. Session Recording uses the ICA protocol Thin Wire and saves the recordings in a Citrix proprietary format that is fairly easy in the file size. With the Session Recording Player, an authorized administrator to search and playback of recorded meetings for further analysis. Session recording is supported for servers VDA. Director 7.6.0 was focused primarily on the integration with session recording.

Director Integration

The release 7.6.0 Director Session recording is integrated. The integration enables an authorized user to adjust Director session recording guidelines by the Director. Session recording is integration with the Platinum Edition of XenDesktop are available.

How do we configure Director & Session Recording to work together?

  • Install Director XenDesktop installer

Authorization

to Director, session recording options are available only if the Director user has the appropriate rights to change the recording session guidelines. The permissions the session recording to change policies, are set on the Session Recording Authorization console as shown below

Director supports session recording Actions at two locations. They are user data page and equipment Details page
