We're back after another unbelievable Cloud Master Class looking at how to install and configure CloudPlatform in less than an hour and a half. The only complaint about the webinar was that people did not know what was happening or could not stay the whole time so they missed something they hoped. W hat are the limits of CloudPlatform hosts, clusters, pods and zones
If you are not sure what the terms of the question refers to, do not worry, you are not alone, you can learn more about them here. We often talk of 'power over large clouds of the world ", this is well and good from a marketing point of view, but what are the real numbers CloudPlatform can bear? CloudPlatform 3.0.6 is certified to operate up to 30,000 hosts with 4 servers and management up to 3000 pod. The zones and clusters are a construction CloudPlatform so there is no additional limits there.
Which version of XenServer works with CloudPlatform?
For those of you who have seen the class, we build CloudPlatform demo environment on top of a single XenServer virtualized infrastructure which, while certainly not recommended for any type production environment, we can limit the number of computers used for demonstration.
Today, with CloudPlatform we support XenServer 6.0 to 6.1 (and all feature packs between). Some of the latest features in XenServer 6.1 are not compatible, for example Storage XenMotion. Of course, we are working on this and hope to be able to show some really cool demos without sharing on future classes. The follow-on question to that question is "why choose XenServer for your cloud environment?" What I covered in a previous post.
How can we deliver multiple services cloud for our end users? 
this is indicative of a trend that we see more and more in the space of cloud computing this year, the idea of providing IT self-service. the cloud providers which initially focused on the construction of infrastructure-as-a-Service clouds, which simplify and automate the supply of infrastructure for their system administrators now need a way to deliver information and cloud services as their business users want. Our new CloudPortal business Manager Version is at the top of your CloudPlatform environment to deliver desktops, applications, storage and as platform that service through a single portal for the end user managed. We expect a big focus on the concept of IT-as-a-service in the industry this year, so definitely make sure this is part of your decision process when building your cloud environment.
Why use the base region from the tip region?
networking is one of the key components for cloud computing and also one of the areas that confuses most often people when they start to build their CloudPlatform environment.
Basic Zone: provides a flat network model, where isolation between VM tenant is provided using security groups. This type of network is cloud-based Amazon and tends to be adopted by service providers. This model is more scalable because there are fewer physical limitations for the isolation and in many ways offers more granular isolation at the application
Advanced Zone: . uses VLANs to Layer2 isolation for the tenant, but can also support NRS. This network model is adopted mainly by companies who are more familiar with VLANs and want to design their cloud environment within the same framework. There are a number of features, including the use of physical firewalls and load balancers that can be implemented with this model, but there is the inherent limitation of 4000 VLANs ~ by cloud.
