XenDesktop 7.1 is based on the new HDX features and functionality introduced with XenDesktop 7.0, such as high performance GPU sharing (OpenGL and DirectX) for load Windows server RDS work, increased video frame rate on limited bandwidth connections, Windows media Redirection for iOS (besides existing Windows and Linux support) for increased server scalability and support for multicast media Windows. The new HDX offers specific day to XenDesktop 7.1 include:
- flash media redirection for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2
- console support studio for the GPU provisioning on XenServer using passthrough GPU and NVIDIA GRID next vGPU technology (now Tech preview)
- acceleration enabled automatically for DirectX hardware ADV when the server (or desktop PC, in the case of access PC remotely) has GPU hardware
Furthermore, remote access of PC features new code that stores the positions of the windows between desktops users and remote devices to provide experience more seamless roaming on all machines
