As 2014 approaches, many computer experts publish their forecasts and trends for the new year. To add to the mix, we interviewed more than 700 customers around the world to gather ideas on mobility of the current business and bring your own device (BYOD) trends and predictors for 2014.

BYO means more Smartphones and tablets that

Although the focus of BYO programs has been on tablets and smartphones, companies are also increasingly have to support desktops and computers portable. The survey found BYO desktop and laptops will increase to 25% in 2014. An influx of devices are flooding businesses, and it will secure applications and business data across a heterogeneous mix of devices and platforms.

Windows Apps will continue to dominate

Enterprise mobility and "mobile" are the first topical issues. However, the survey found that mobile applications represent only 6% of all applications used. Windows applications still dominate, accounting for 64% of all applications in 2013. Although it is slightly declining trend with an estimated 54% in 2014, the majority of types of applications is still based on Windows. So while mobile is fashionable, Windows applications remain important, and IT must still deliver these applications on a variety of devices that users remain productive.

More mobile application proliferation and Confusion

for many companies, the growth of mobile devices and applications is largely motivated by the desire of employees be more productive on the road. In 2014, the number of applications in use by organizations increase. The survey found 42% of companies expect to manage 100+ applications, with 21% of respondents expect to manage more than 1,000 applications

App confusion will continue in its struggle to answer key questions, including :.

  • Determining whether to wait for the mobile versions of native or commercial-off-shelf cloud applications are available
  • decide which platforms (iOS, Android, WinPhone, etc. ) within the developed applications should support and in what order
  • Keep out the adoption of other native mobile applications for the web or cloud based applications
  • Creation of the structure and the appropriate organizational processes to support the development and management of a heterogeneous application environment

Despite the rocky road ahead, companies will continue to look for creative ways to leverage mobility to grow the top line, improve customer relationships, and drive higher levels of productivity and efficiency. He must have a plan in place and adopt enterprise mobility management solution that allows them to adapt to dynamic changes in their BYOD environment.
