electoral machines to the United States came under supervision after it was revealed that the touch screen systems used in several states across America had very little security, as anyone could easily and anonymously access to voting machines found to be easy to hack. The Agency of Virginia Information Technology released a report indicating that the security levels on the electoral machines were so low that no one in the parking lot of the polling stations could easily bypass the security and hack the machines.
It has been found that simple passwords to these machines ranged from "admin" to "abcde", and these machines had been in use for over 12 years, covering several presidential elections covering 02-2014 . This means that anyone within a certain radius of AVS WinVote machinery could change everything and all completely unnoticed votes.
The electronic voting machines coming under fire have been found in Virginia, Mississippi and Pennsylvania, where it was found that you do not even need to be particularly skilled in hacking IT or security to remotely access these machines. Security Passwords are very basic and mostly used the password simply by default. Actual operating systems used in the systems have proven to be updated as well, most as old as 04, which meant a very low level of attack was all that was necessary.
There is simply no way to know if these machines were actually trafficked for the number of years they were in use, because none of them hold any kind of newspapers or records. The report ended with the overwhelming conclusion never know if tampering is gone, but there really was not, it would only be because someone has not even tried.
