Well, the team is working on many new and exciting features, and I want to give you the opportunity to preview what is to come :. Announcing Curacao project, a preview tech VDI-in-a-Box

Curacao project soon happens in early May and will offer the same simple, all-in-one VDI solution that dramatically reduces the cost and complexity of a typical VDI deployment. The technology preview will extend VDI-in-a-Box to ensure the full Windows 8 support with HDX connections, personal computers (PVD) on Windows 8, single sign-on for remote users via Citrix NetScaler Access Gateway / and a new wizard- based on the installation and management of SSL certificates. Here are the details of these characteristics:

Full Windows 8 virtual office holder

VDI-in-a-Box supported RDP connections to Windows 8 desktops virtual since day when Microsoft released Windows 8. Curacao project adds HDX connection to Windows 8 virtual desktops, as well as many other HDX enhancements in the areas of video quality and efficiency of bandwidth, the H.264 encoding into HDX SuperCodec, application support DirectX 3D, etc. Now VDI-in-a-Box users can enjoy the same high-definition, high-performance HDX technology on the latest Windows platform.

We also add a personal desktop support for Windows 8. Personal workstations integrates the Citrix Personal vDisk technology with VDI-in-a-Box and provides end users the ability to install applications as they did with their physical desktops. This feature is currently running on Citrix XenServer and VMware vSphere hypervisors.

Provide remote access to end users is a key element of Citrix vision of enabling mobile workstyles and Single Sign on (SSO) is an important aspect of a remote experience. VDI-in-a-Box enables SSO already on Citrix Receiver for remote users coming through Citrix NetScaler Access Gateway /. Curacao project adds SSO for remote users who connect from a browser via web interface NetScaler Access Gateway /.

installation of SSL certificate management and UI

The VDI-in-a-Box devices come with a self-signed SSL certificate is not approved by browsers and devices Web. This results in a browser warning message whenever an end user connects to their virtual desktop, or when an administrator logs in to the administration console VDI-in-a-Box. Also, if you use StoreFront for user connections, SSL trusted certificate is required. Curacao project adds a stylish SSL Certificate Wizard, easy to use to greatly simplify the creation, installation and management of SSL certificates in a VDI-in-a-Box environment.

These are some of the features. Curacao project will be available to existing customers and partners in early May. Once the technology preview was released, we would appreciate your feedback.
