A few days ago, I saw this new video blog of Alexander Ervik Johnsen, a TCO (Citrix Technology Professional) I re-tweeted with one word "Awesome!" ... .. 
Last month, Citrix held our partner and profession SUMMIT Conference in Orlando, Florida, USA. Ervik has had the opportunity to test-NVIDIA GRID Citrix vGPU to offer Windows desktop via XenDesktop at his home datacenter in Europe at his hotel in Florida via their regular wifi.
This demo shows anything is possible
- data Alexander remained in of its data center, which could be commercially valuable proprietary designs never left its own servers in Europe
- Alexander consulted fairly complex architectural patterns thousands of miles away on a desktop environment, there could have been an architect on site the potential building
- he did on hotel wifi !!! HE DID IT ON WIFI HOTEL !!! .... The type of infrastructure that often struggle to give me access twitter!
Alexander demonstrated the use of Solibri model checker. Solibri Model Checker is a quality assurance solution for BIM validation, compliance control, design review, analysis and code verification. I have already blogged about why I think vGPU and Citrix is a very good match for AEC / BIM (architecture, building and construction) applications such as Bentley Solibri and Citrix certified Micro Systems and Autodesk. GPU sharing to enable mobility offsite makes much sense for these industries.
The connection was made on a WIFI hotel at the Hyatt Regency Orlando (Florida) at the demonstration center in Oslo, Norway. Average latency was 141 ms and jitter of 1 ms. We are working on the integration of the acquisition of the latest technology in our FrameHawk XenDesktop and HDX Pro battery to eliminate jitter and make these solutions even further! Exciting times
