CNIL prompt Google to comply with regulations on personal data -

The French National Commission and Freedom (CNIL) asked Google to comply with the French law on the protection of personal data, within three months to the US giant to not receive a fine of up to € 300,000.

investigation by the French commission confirmed that Google violated the 1978 law on the protection of personal data.

CNIL has indeed found no less than six violations of the law. It accuses Google of numerous inaccuracies in the explanation to users on the use of their personal data. Google has also delivered an "unfair collection" of information on users who do not have a Google account and are unaware that sites they surf on the collection and transfer of information. Finally, the search engine does not specify the length at which it stores data.

"If you combine very vague goals, very little information and no specification about the time the data is stored, the opacity of Google is very strong vis-à-vis its customers," said Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin, President of the CNIL.

the Committee even gives some tips for the Internet giant to comply with French law. for the CNIL, the giant should inform users on management of personal data and obtain their approval before installing cookies. Google should also limit its combined use of user data across its various services (Gmail, Google+, YouTube).

the notification comes after a long investigation and discussions more or less constructively with Google, through a concerted approach 27 "CNIL" in Europe, with France as a leader. representatives of the CNIL referred to the fact that Spain, the England, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands were also put in place a similar action against Google.
