Only 39% of Internet users protect themselves online -

in an extensive survey conducted by the Centre for international governance innovation (CIGI) and Ipsos research company, it is found that only 39% of Internet users protect themselves online. The survey asked 23.376 Internet users in 24 countries on topics related to online security and privacy. Among the many responses, we asked users if they had heard of Edward Snowden, and the results show a clear indication of how its affected revelations internet users. Not surprisingly, more than two thirds (64%) of users are now more concerned about online privacy than they were a year ago, before the Snowden files were released.

But on the other hand, it is worrying that even now, only 41% of all Internet users feel lucky to compromise their personal information is so small it is not worth worrying about . So even with all the reports and rising statistics of computer crime and the loss of personal data, not everyone takes every precaution. The study shows that 39% of users now spend their passwords, versus that of a year ago, when the number was much smaller.

In addition to taking standard precautions with passwords and be careful regarding staff sharing information online, another step to take is to use a VPN. A virtual private network essentially protects your Internet connection, preventing unwanted access on any device you use to connect to the Internet. The secure VPN to encrypt your connection, even if you connect to an unsecured public wireless network.

Get a VPN and make sure you are protected when using the Internet, without mater where you are.
