Learn how Storefront 3.0 supports Google Chrome without NPAPI -

A few months ago, I blogged here a heads-up about the interruption of the user experience for recipients to provide for Web when Google Chrome NPAPI disabled and to provide some temporary workarounds available. I pointed out that we are actively working on a new technology to remove the dependency on NPAPI.

Today, I can announce that the new solution in the Storefront 3.0 Tech Preview is included. In this article I will show you how the Tech Preview environment set up for a test drive, you prepare this new solution for the change.

The Storefront 3.0 finally frees, we expect that the new solution will be applied to Google Chrome on Windows and Mac. The user experience for other browsers will not be affected. We also expect the new solution for the new interface and the classic green bubble UI works. This is to help you minimize disruption to users. In the Tech Preview to note, however, that the solution only works for the new interface with Chrome on Windows.

Now, let's begin the Tech Preview environment up Chrome without NPAPI support.

First, I would like to turn on auto-fallback for HTML5 to receiver. This is optional, but it will take you through the whole experience.

  1. Open the Storefront Admin Console
  2. Select Receiver for Web node in the left panel
  3. Select the Receiver for Web site you want in the central region
  4. Select deploying Citrix receiver object in the right pane
  5. Select if local can be installed use receiver HTML5 use, as seen in the screenshot below
  6. Select OK and the Admin console

Standard receiver for Windows download link in receiver for Web on the official Citrix download site refers close. As the new solution that requires the Tech Preview release of Receiver for Windows, we need to set it manually. In addition, the solution is disabled by default in the Storefront 3.0 Tech Preview and therefore we have to enable it by editing the configuration file. These steps will not be necessary, in the official release of Storefront 3.0 and Receiver for Windows 4.3.

  1. Download Receiver for Windows 4.3 Tech Preview here (if you have not done)
  2. they copy it into the facade installation (usually C: Program Files Citrix Receiver storefront receiver clients) and rename it to CitrixReceiverWeb.exe
  3. Open web.config under the receiver for Web site (usually C: inetpub wwwroot Citrix Web) in your favorite text editor
  4. the line
  5. , the value of the path to change the server to be local path is / Citrix / StoreWeb / customers / CitrixReceiverWeb.exe in my case
  6. Find the line
  7. change the value of capitalized to be true

  8. you save the file and the text editor close
