Turn The Beat Around: HP Moonshot & Citrix Mobile workspaces ". Awesome Mix, Vol 2" -

Be A Citrix Mixologist Build your mixed App and Desktop playlist.

In my last post, I compared the options within HP Moonshot and Citrix mobile workspaces Mashups as this deejay (You're welcome, by the way), but we did not come near, all to cover, we do can.

With an architecture as HP Moonshot, the ability to build an all-in-one solution and design IT professionals enables a variety of mobile workspaces to build companies and the needs of users of to solve a single platform and do it in a chassis. In the case of remote branch office, could the architect have to simplify the infrastructure to core services such as XenApp Controller, XenDesktop controllers, NetScaler VPX, Provisioning Services and XenMobile (coming soon).

Because many provide help of the core that can be virtualized on a Moonshot cartridge deploying Citrix services, this is just a great part of communication can all easily and allow his to travel from the east, inside the housing to the west. This type of construction reduces the complexity and dependencies in scenarios such as these. Let's look at the different hardware cartridges a glance, side by side with XenApp and XenDesktop in the same Moonshot chassis can run.

The mixing of the playlist hardware.

Now that we know that we can deliver on a chassis XenApp and XenDesktop, we will look at what hardware we need for infrastructure workloads.

The Platform HP Moonshot, we have 2 types of cartridges that can run Windows 2012R2 with the HyperV role and Citrix XenServer. The first cartridge is the HP Proliant m300. Let's look at each of the infrastructure equipment to better understand a glance, which one is right for you.

high-performance processing with minimal power

The HP Proliant Moonshot m300 is a great low-power Intel atom c2750 cartridge. Although it is an Atom processor, do not be fooled, because it can run an 8-core count with 2.4GHz and packs multiple VMs.

This cartridge also a few secrets as well as houses. While all the other cartridges 2 physical network adapters can be performed, this is the only cartridge, the software update can 4 physical 1GB network adapters are designed with a special HP. So if you prefer to have more physical NICs for designs such as management, PVS streaming, virtual machine motioning then this cartridge may be best for you. It can also run two physical drives, as well. Inside the HP Proliant m300, you can create a configuration with a 1-TB SATA drives and a second small m.2 64GB SSD.

With two drives, you can find a solution, where you can place your hypervisor as Windows 2012r2 with HyperV on the SSD and the virtual machines on the SATA drives. Below are the specifications for this cartridge. The full specifications soon to this cartridge can be found here.

enterprise-class CPU

The HP Moonshot ProLiant M710 is the first Moonshot cartridge from the Intel ® Xeon E3 1284Lv3 processor with integrated Iris Pro graphics P50 graphics is powered. With the integrated on-board processing and graphics, you can use a variety of virtual machines on Windows 2012R2 with Hyper-V and XenServer running 6.5. The HP Proliant M710 has 2 10GB Mellanox network adapters per cartridge. However, if we mix it with the internal HP 180G switch the speed of 10 GB is reduced to 1 GB. Of course, the NICs can deliver on this cassette and be teamed increased throughput. Below is an excerpt from the technical data. The full specifications soon to this cartridge can be found here.

Mix and match rewind

Whichever cartridge you choose, you can be sure that there are a number of running virtual machines for the entire chassis. to mix and match workloads from a software and hardware perspective, the flexibility is a unique offer only Citrix and HP can offer today. Be sure to check 2 this mixture volume were we begin the scalability of this mobile workstation infrastructure!
