How to configure Windows Remote Assistance in XenApp 6.5 for multi-monitor shadowing -

This is a step by step walkthrough on how to implement remote support for multi-screen shading in XenApp 6.5 on Windows Server 08 R2.

  1. Added function remote support on ANY Citrix XenApp 6.5 servers that you want in the shade of users, whether remote assistance is published on the given server . You will need to restart the servers once the Remote Assistance feature is added.

  2. Create / Edit Group Policy announcement for your XenApp servers, and under Computer Configuration Policies Administrative Templates System Remote Assistance , open remote Assistance Offer

  3. Enable remote Assistance policy under Option :. select "Allow helpers to remotely control the computer."
    Click Show button ... , and add AD user groups that will be allowed in the shade of user sessions.

  4. Run the following command on EVERY Citrix XenApp 6.5 servers you enable Remote Assistance to configure the servers for remote control connections.
    > winrm quickconfig 

    You will be prompted to confirm make changes, type Y and press Enter.

  5. Post Remote Assistance Citrix AppCenter console console using the following command line:
     "C:  Windows  System32  MSRA .exe "/ offerra

  • NOTE: remote Assistance does not identify whether a given user is currently logged in You must determine whether the user is connected and what server they are on the AppCenter console or the Director console. . Type the name of the server that the user is in the remote support console, and select the user you want to shade in the dropdown menu.
