Ten cases of use for remote access of PC in XenDesktop -

"We review all our value propositions through the lens of mobile telephony" #CitrixIA.

I was watching the twitter feed of industry analysts they heard yesterday Citrix leadership present throughout the day (September 18 e 2013), and in particular, this quote widespread that filtered Mark Templeton really stands out for me. I 100% agree and simply, he conveyed the very purpose of the remote PC access as it applies to existing workstations.

Recently, I created one day frustrated in the life of remote desktop access the action live video that showcases remote PC access users solve challenges associated with BYO, VPN, and the circumstances of work / life, using XenDesktop through this movable lens.

remote PC Access can be considered as a rancher for remote desktop mobility in some ways we're going to discuss the top 10 customers reasons are embracing

  1. You are a "admin Citrix" and publish an application from MetaFrame / Presentation Server / XenApp, which allows a user to type in their IP Address office or name of the machine, the user carefully reauthenticates. This connection is then uses the server / XA MF / PS as a proxy server protocol transition.
  2. You are a "network admin services" and create VPN tunnels (without client or not) to enable remote desktop applications to browse the secure connection in the DMZ. After authentication for VPN, users can create their own links to internal machines, and you must implement Network Access Controls to ensure they connect to a PC and policies to ensure different virtual channels are limited - most likely duplicate checks from your existing Citrix deployment application. You should also make sure the pre-authentication analyzes are valid, and in some cases require certain levels of operating system patches to maintain a perimeter virus security and malware.
  3. You are intrigued by VDI, or HVD in the data center, but a short time to go before the user community has been the transition. Deploy remote access of PC now, and their connection experience never changes once the image has been migrated to the data center.
  4. You do not rely on migration to VDI datacenter or HVD, and have plans to PC refresh. Your connection model for remote access to the PC still has VPN support challenges and to ensure the best experience alongside your Citrix application infrastructure. http://www.citrix.com/tv/#videos/06
  5. You have invested in XenApp and want to unify the physical remote workstations with the same user experience, more use controls and monitoring HDX your existing infrastructure; SmartAccess HDX EdgeSight and Insight.
  6. You have XenDesktop and looking for new and exciting ways to leverage your FlexCast licenses more widely and reduce costs across the IT department by the collapse of desktop access infrastructure.
  7. You're looking to reduce network bandwidth and increase the user experience to access Remote Desktop App allowing local access and operation to limit the Web content and applications commercial home PC, while the enterprise Web content and application are stored in the remote session - all painted in the same session of virtual desktop visually. http://www.citrix.com/tv/#videos/8987
  8. You have plans to refresh PC but want an image delivery model provided by XenClient revolutionized. Integration of remote access PC in the basic central image gives you an advantage to have a superior experience remote desktop while physically away from the locally virtualized image, which increases the return on investment of these assets. http://www.citrix.com/tv/#videos/605 (EDIT: In Q4 2015, XenClient was announced as end of life, for more details, visit our product life cycle support page)
  9. You are intrigued by XenMobile and also want to incorporate physical remote desktop access alongside your SaaS and remote applications, providing the same user experience remoting and security infrastructure network without the overhead extra DMZ and management / load 3 e protocol add-ins section.
  10. You have a security policy that restricts BYO in the sense that the VPN must be established because of viruses, malware and IP theft prevention. Using the receiver, Netscaler gateway and policy HDX you overcome these threats retaining the intellectual property to the desktop and never support a VPN for viruses / malware potentially spread

Give XenDesktop trial July 1 .: http://www.citrix.com/products/xendesktop/try.html today - and in 30 minutes you should have PC remote access and running. We have two great videos by Allen Furmanski in our technical WW preparation teams if you need advice on installing the broker or agent.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
