Application Testing Testing As Holiday Light? Take this lesson in planning -

My friend Mike is the guru of neighborhood light displays rental -. It may even have built the best light show of his city

to a positive end result, application tests should be as rigorous as holiday light tests . Photo courtesy Mike and Jen

In November, Facebook pictures of Mike and his wife, Jen, sneak peeks common display. These extracts showed Mike had a big planning process. Gauging the number of lights needed for the roof line with a distance measurement laser building support for the 20-foot tree through the side of the house, testing the lights - he planned it all so that the project can be successful

.

When it came time to actually hang lights, Mike knew what he had to do- he had a plan

Day 1 -. 1,0 suspended and ready lights

day 2-1700 suspended lights and ready

day 3-1300 suspended and ready lights (less production, it had a full day at his real job)

day 4-2400 suspended and ready lights

day 5-1850 suspended lights (had to take a break to see the new James Bond movie)

day 6-100 lights suspended and ready

Along the way, Mike enrolled Jen, his son, neighbors and a ladder 20 feet cleaning windows business of a friend. Needless to say, the families of the neighborhood, a few local visitors and Facebook friends of the family around the world watched and anticipated the big show.

As the project progressed, some people joked about Mike is the new Clark Griswold. In Christmas Vacation , Clark tries again and again to get the Christmas lights to work. The whole family gathers several times to go outside in the cold for the great revelation, but again and again, the lights fail. In addition, Clark superimposes the exit for the Christmas tree and cause a fire. Not a great end result

If you've already decorated with lights, you know that bad string- or even a bad bulb -. Can take the whole screen. A short in the system can contain up to reveal all. You try and try to find the problem, but it is sometimes difficult to find short, a frayed electrical wire or a bulb that's just not connected right.

The good news is the Mike holiday light went live without questions of Clark. All 10,750 lights worked to great enlightenment on Thanksgiving evening. It has a beautiful display that illuminates his neighborhood and spread holiday cheer.
