Regarding the security of the network, it is Citrix Access Gateway, which makes all the magic. Citrix MDX came with the technology to provide a safer mobile experience, and part of this framework is the MDX Micro VPN technology. Unlike a typical SSL VPN, we decided to address access to the mobile network of "smart and secure" way.
start with what happens with traditional SSL VPN Client on a mobile device. When you need to connect to your corporate LAN to access a corporate / data application, connect via SSL VPN client, and it gives you a complete tunnel to your corporate network. This is almost like a part of the local corporate LAN and gives you access to everything. Although it is not too bad for the end user in the world BYOD, it is a huge threat in his mind. This is a device that does not support, does not control what data applications / resides on the device, and now such a device is part of my business network.
So how Access Gateway do this differently? Access Gateway provides VPN instead of Micro-level SSL VPN device. These are essentially Micro VPN VPN application level and enable VPN access for legitimate applications.
How does it work? Well, with MDX Micro VPN, business applications that reside on the phone / tablet to the end user have a safety enclosure built around them. This envelope applies various mobile control policies. Moreover, it is this envelope that has integrated logic on how to connect to the corporate network through Access Gateway. So whenever the application needs to interact with a resource that resides on the corporate LAN, the security envelope connects to Access Gateway establishes the level of application Micro VPN, and begins the interaction between the application and the enterprise resource.
