After 40 days of exciting journey Tech Preview on VDI-in-a-Box Project Curacao, today we released VDI-in -a-Box Version 5.3 Web. Designed for desktop IT administrators, VDI-in-a-Box 5.3 retains once again its promise to simplify desktop management and reduce costs of providing virtual desktops. Here is the run down of new and improved features and why they matter to you.

We have covered. In fact, it has never been more integrated with Windows and latest technologies.

  • VDI-in-a-Box delivers 5.3 better than local experience providing HDX connections to Windows 8 positions virtual work. This is the same component HDX between VDI-in-a-Box and XenDesktop 7. It also supports applications based on DirectX 3D video with improved quality and efficiency of bandwidth.
  • VDI-in-a-Box offers the best of both worlds: users get customized workstations for their applications, settings and data, while the Windows desktop administrators manage a single master image. With release 5.3, PC are now available on the latest Windows operating system, Windows 7 and 8.

  • VDI-in-a-Box 5.3 provides a great end user experience for remote connection to the pass-through authentication. Single sign-on capacity using the NetScaler Access Gateway web interface is now supported, however, this requires Active Directory.
  • Last XenServer 6.2 hypervisor is now supported with VDI-in-a-Box 5.3 will help you to increase the density of server and run virtual desktops. Also, supported are Microsoft Hyper-V 2012 and VMware vSphere / ESX 5.1. No matter what platform you are running, VDI-in-a-Box takes advantage of the best that these platforms have to offer.

  • Integration with AppController allows VDI-in-a-Box to work seamlessly with your existing XenMobile environment. This provides secure access to all corporate resources in one place - Windows, web and SaaS applications; workstations and data.
  • VDI-in-a-Box 5.3 is now withCitrix compliant Universal Print Server. IT no longer needs to install multiple network printer drivers in the gold more pictures. Universal Printing requires no driver installation in the images, which not cause driver headaches for IT and a great printing experience for users.
