Citrix VDI-in-a-Box 5.3 now with Windows 8 support, Single Sign-On and SSL certificate Installing the User-Driven interface and much more -

Lost in the excitement surrounding the announcement of Citrix XenDesktop 7, was the announcement that Citrix VDI-in-a-Box received very well Curacao project will be published in as VDI-in-a -Box 5.3 at the end of June. This latest version sharing some important Citrix XenDesktop technologies to 7. Here is what this means for our partners and customers

VDI-in-a-Box is to stay the course . Interested in a move to Windows 8? VDI-in-a-Box 5.3 now supports Windows 8, like XenDesktop; Personal vDisk is now supported on Windows 8 and Windows 7; and you get to take advantage of DirectX and other video enhancements provided the latest HDX technologies. And it does not matter what hypervisor you want to use, as we support the latest version of XenServer and Hyper-V and vSphere. If you have been considering a move to Server 2012, VDI-in-a-Box 5.3 now supports as virtual desktop with native support of VHD and the new formats of VHDX.

VDI -in-a-Box continues enhancing its integration with other Citrix products: Have you been wondering if SSO is supported Citrix Access Gateway ? Well the answer is "yes." Citrix NetScaler Access Gateway / now enables your users to connect to the Access Gateway, and their credentials are passed directly to VDI-in-a-Box. IT people will appreciate the information enhancements to the image Distributing troubleshooting tool and centralized collection of log files - instead of having to pull them individually from each server in the grid. We also tweaked the internal product quite a bit to make VDI-in-a-Box 5.3 more robust and higher performance.

VDI-in-a-Box 5.3 improves the overall computing experience: There have been a number of improvements focused on making it work is simpler.
