Configure Citrix Director with Director Configuration Tool GUI -

Currently, to set the parameters required by the Director, a command line tool is provided and the plant manager. With the release of XenDesktop 7 director, who has an additional network panel using NetScaler HDX Insight to provide a network for virtual applications and office, the importance of this tool has further increased as the director does not come with the default settings for the machine and Netscaler this tool is the only way to configure these settings. Without these parameters above mentioned panel will remain disabled. However, use the command line tool for administrators may be a bit heavy as they must remember the different arguments that are required for the configuration of different parameters. This problem can be solved by a graphical tool that allows administrators a simple and intuitive way to configure Director. So the goal here was to develop a GUI Configuration Tool Manager that is easy to navigate and use and simplifies the configuration process and Director

Requirements :. Director is installed on the machine where the tool is run

Design and use: screen of our user interface tool appears as shown in the figure below: -.

We decided to divide the various actions that can be performed in three logical sections. They are described below

Using the user interface tool: -.

  • Select 'Director Set option to configure the address of XenDesktop controller or to configure IIS Web site. The user will be able to enter the DDC (Desktop Delivery Controller or linens broker) IP / name or the name of the site (IIS site name for the default manager is the manager) in their respective input fields .One can also provide multiple comma-separated IP SDC as well if the manager is running on a multi XenDesktop Environment.
  • Select option 'Configure NetScaler to configure settings associated with Netscaler machine. If ConfigNetscaler selected, a console window will open where the user will be prompted to enter the Netscaler Machine name, user name and password. UnconfigNetscaler choose option will delete all related parameters Netscaler machine.
  • Select "Other actions" option if you want to perform operations of maintaining the house. The following four operations can be performed: -
  1. Uninstall : All files and folders that contain the previously saved changes made by the user are deleted. These files and folders are not removed during uninstallation so user must remove them using this tool
  2. Update :. Read the user's application settings and save them to the new web.config. file
  3. RegisterDotNet : Records asp.net with IIS if not already registered
  4. EnableRA :. This command is used to enable remote assistance.

More details on these commands can be found here or in the Help Guide Manager Configuration Tool.

I attach the tool and source code in the position to try. Just copy the tool to a machine that Director is installed and you are good to go

Also attached are the design documents and the Guide
